Day 321 A Stop At Horseshoe Bend

Thursday, November 17 – The group made a stop at Horseshoe Bend in Page on our way back home. Not a place had any desire to ever see except in photos and without me behind the lens. I got this close to just shoot Bob, one of my traveling buddies from the workshop. I can not tell you have terrifying I found this place. Goosebumps are on my arms just thinking about it. It is far worse than the Grand Canyon and even Walter has to say that he was frightened of the danger there. No guard rails and 1000ft straight over a leaning edge. I did make the hike over and am glad that I have now seen from a safe distance what everyone was talking about.

I found a site with a neat little gallery about both antelope canyon and horseshoe bend…

    http://www.imprintsoflight.com/articles/tripreports/pageaz

And this comment about the signage in the area at another…

“the sign as you leave the parking lot and start up the trail. For as long as I can remember, the saying has always been, “Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.” Classy, to the point, a little poetic, and we all know what it means. However, some Fed with too little to do has changed it to what you see on the sign.

There will be none of that poetic nonsense at this park.”

It now just says: “Leave Nothing Behind”.

I look forward to seeing this in person!
