Day 206 Solar Calendar

Monday, July 25 – The Sinagua Indians used this cliff of Petroglyphs as an Equinox and Solstice Calendar. We stayed long enough to watch how this works when the sun beams hit the wall from the overlying rocks.  They would plan their planting and harvest around this calendar.

We didn’t really know what to expect at first and thought this would be a while lot of “nothing”. Boy were we surprised when the sun came over the two rocks. It was absolutely amazing!!
