Day 55 What Was I Thinking?
Thursday, February 24 - We visited both Zion and Bryce Canyons on our way home. There was a tunnel that Walter talked me into going through leading from Zion to Bryce. What was I thinking? I guess I had no idea that it was a very long tunnel. Holy cow!! I shot this one from the truck as we approached the entrance.

How long exactly was the tunnel? We always hold our breath and honk the horn as we go through a tunnel but that doesn’t always work for the long ones…
It is 1.1 mile, but seems a whole lot longer than that. Very spooky when you are inside. It was actually completed in the 30s. Big rigs, campers and motor homes have to have an escort and they stop traffic for them. I guess it isn’t wide enough to pass them inside.
