Day 23 Beautiful Red Rock Crossing
Sunday, January 23 – We took a drive to both sides of Red Rock Crossing. There is no bridge, so we had to drive all the way to west Sedona from the village where we live. From what I have been told, this is one of the most photographed spots here in Sedona. I think it would be awesome in the fall with the turning leaves. I can imagine wading out in Oak Creek to get a reflection shot of Cathedral Rock. Three mountain bikers did cross while we were there, carrying their bikes and with water almost to the waist and cold. Here are some shots that I did get. Not a good day for reflections, though. As you can see, someone decided to build a sand castle right here at the crossing with the pretty red sand. I decided to include it in one of my shots. These are all G11 shots.
Beautiful!!!!

Such beautiful red hues everywhere. I agree – this spot in the fall would be amazing! But…even in winter it’s fantastic.
I think it was a great day for reflections…just not mirror smooth ones!
Try really early in the morning…or sunset…
