Day 66 White Sands National Monument
Hello, from White Sands. Wow, what a wonderful place to photograph! I have blisters on my feet from hiking here, but it has been worth every painful step. My knees are finally used to crawling up and down the dunes. I can not praise Craig Varjabedian enough for this fantastic experience. I have so many images to share. The dune area is 10miles by 20 miles, so it is big. We hiked in 2 1/2 miles one way the first day to get some good shot of ‘clean’ dunes, meaning with no human footprints. Â It is spring break here, so the dunes are covered with young people. They use ‘flying saucers’ to go down the snow-like dunes. What fun!! I am almost tempted to try it. Â The image here is of Yucca plants which are very abundant.
Is that what the pods dan at the river are? Nice shot! {!-{>
