Day 66 White Sands National Monument

Hello, from White Sands. Wow, what a wonderful place to photograph! I have blisters on my feet from hiking here, but it has been worth every painful step. My knees are finally used to crawling up and down the dunes. I can not praise Craig Varjabedian enough for this fantastic experience. I have so many images to share. The dune area is 10miles by 20 miles, so it is big. We hiked in 2 1/2 miles one way the first day to get some good shot of ‘clean’ dunes, meaning with no human footprints.  It is spring break here, so the dunes are covered with young people. They use ‘flying saucers’ to go down the snow-like dunes. What fun!! I am almost tempted to try it.  The image here is of Yucca plants which are very abundant.
