Day 294 A True Thanksgiving Feast

Friday, October 21 – Canadian Thanksgiving, Leslee style. We have the honor of feasting with our friends, Leslee and Curtis, each year on Canadian Thanksgiving. A wonderful evening of delicious food and great conversation. As you can see  here, Toots was pretty excited to get started on a roll or two and maybe some chocolate milk.

Day 293 Giant Springs In Golden Light

Thursday, October 20 – A shot just as the sun was going down at Giant Springs. Gotta love that golden light that time of day.

So Sorry, Sierra

Your photo refuses to upload here. I don’t know what the problem is. I can see it, but it won’t post to the site. I am so sorry. It is an awesome shot too. I don’t get it!! I am sitting here looking at your photo on my site as I edit and yet it doesn’t show up when you try to look at it on the actual site. Crazy.

Day 292 And More Walk Contest Photos

Wednesday, October 19 – Here are the final 8 in the walk contest. I randomly put them up and they are not in order of placement at all.  I am so proud of each and every one of them. I think you could say we had a very successful walk. Now on to doing a book with photos from everyone.  Great job everyone!!

Day 291 More Walk Shots

Tuesday, October 17 – I decided to share all the photo walk submissions, as I was so impressed with everyone’s work. What a walk we had, as you can tell by the photos I received for the contest. I will split them up over 2 days for viewing. Enjoy!!

Day 290 The Top Three

Monday, October 17 – Here are the other 2 photos that I had in the top 3 along with Alan’s for the photo walk. It was a very hard decision and all are winners in my eyes.  Kimmie’s car and Leslee’s leaf both are outstanding.

Day 289 And The World Wide Photo Walk Winner Is – Alan H

Sunday, October 16 – What a week it has been. We have been preconditioning calves all week and I am exhausted. In between those days, I had camera club and had the monthly contest to do a slide show of there.  I completed the World Wide  photo walk judging and here is the big winner.  Alan H won with his Flying Nun capture and now will move on to the international competition. His photo is spectacular, don’t you think?

Day 288 Lots of Texture Going On

Saturday, October 15 – Peeling paint and lots of texture – a photographer’s dream come true. I need to go back and try to get a better angle on this wood. Love that old pink paint. Son, Carl, tells me it used to be bright red when he was a youngster. We are busy working cattle this week in preparation for shipping the calves. I don’t have much internet time, so am sneaking on when I can. I have put lots of hours in to studying the photo walk submissions. Talk about a challenge. I finally have it down to the top 3. It is really tough. I know I have to go push that button to pick the winner eventually. But it is hard, as they all deserve to win. I would say our photo walk was a success judging by the photos that were taken.

Day 287 Screwed on Tight

Friday, October 14 – Back to the steam museum for a quick shot. Can’t help but love that peeling paint and rust.

Day 286 Full Moon Tonight

Thursday, October 13 – Got to stay home from moving cows, but tomorrow begins the real work; preconditioning shots, eartags and picking out replacement heifers. The wind is really howling today and it is cold. Glad I am not on the back of a horse. Full moon is this week. Don’t know when I will have time to post again this week. I believe the full moon is tonight. It was cloudy last night and not sure what to expect tonight. The forecast is for mostly cloudy. Here is a shot from last month, just in case. You can tell that we had a bit of smoke in the air last month.
