Day 240 A Little Refreshment While Waiting

Saturday, August 27 – Our first stop at a popular geyser and hot pool got Lily’s attention. We saw geysers, mud pits and steam holes. Tristan didn’t like the smell much. It was on to Old Faithful next. All are G11 shots.

Friday, August 26 – Kristie and I took the kiddos to Yellowstone last weekend. It is a trip well worth it, but hard to sit for any 2 year old as Lily would tell you.

Thursday, August 25 – I took this beautiful sunset a couple of days ago and thought it appropriate for today. I got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon after a bout of chest pain. Nothing wrong with my heart, but might have an asthma problem. At least, I know my heart is in excellent shape. This is a new day and I need to start taking better care of myself and get more active like I used to be. My knee has keep me down for far too long. Daily walking needs to be on my schedule and maybe some swimming again. Will be heading out with the camera club to shoot at the steam museum tomorrow and do some scrapbooking with a friend on Sunday. Nice weekend.
Wednesday, August 24 – Here are some shots of a Praying Mantis that was doing some pest duty on some flowers. He was actually after a butterfly. That tail just wouldn’t hold still. The last shot shows a barbed stinger that he uses to immobilize his conquests. Wish I could have gotten a clearer shot.

Tuesday, August 23 – This little honey bee was very busy gathering pollen for honey production. You can see the evidence all over his little legs. They have been very busy lately. Can hardly wait for those buckets of honey we get from the bee man each fall.

Monday, August 22 – Here are some shots of some of the grasses that grow locally. We are losing the bright green color pretty rapidly lately with the fall heat.

Sunday, August 21 – Emma and Lily have a very special bond. Lily just thinks she is the BEST. I think the feeling is very mutual. Tristan is off combining with Grandpa today. So Lily and I are hanging out watching Miraposa for the upteenth time.
Saturday, August 20 – Tristan and Lily have enjoyed swimming in their cousin’s pool so much. Here are a few shots of them soaking up that sun/water. Becca and Emma are so good to them. What a special time the 4 of them have had this summer.

Friday, August 19 – This sure looks like a future hunter to me. Â Tristan loves to shoot his BB gun with his dad. Not sure what he had in mind here, but he sure looks like he is off to get some big game.
