Day 202 Good To The Last Bite

Thursday, July 21 – Debbie and I have had so many good things to eat here in Sedona. I think our favorite place is the Wildflower Bakery. We are heading there for breakfast today. Here are a few examples of the yummy desserts that have no calories; or at least, we tell ourselves that. Oops, guess we didn’t leave much to see. They are truly yummy right to the last bite. I believe these 3 were, Fruit Tart, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie and a Chocolate Cake.

Day 201 I found My Winter House Today

Wednesday, July 20 – Gotcha, Walter!!! Thought that might get your attention!!  This was taken from the Church of the Holy Cross looking toward Sedona. This house belongs to an MD from Poland who invented a life saving “something” and is obviously getting some pretty good royalties. There isn’t much this house doesn’t have. My friend, Bonnie, who’s house I am staying in, has the same gardener as they do. Oh, my, the stories she has heard about the interior and gardens.

Day 200 Lily Pond Oasis

Tuesday, July 19 – My first posting from Sedona. These were taken with my G11 right outside my bedroom at the house in Sedona. The whole length of the house is glass and that faces Bell Rock. What a view we have.  There are two Koi ponds and two waterfalls covered with Lily Pads. A true oasis in the desert. It is great to leave the sliding glass doors open at night and to hear the waterfall and night noises. However, there are bull frogs out there right now that make the most dreadful noises. Something I have had to get used to.

Day 199 Tractor Addicts

Monday, July 18 – I don’t understand it, but Tiff’s twin boys are addicted to tractor magazines; not just any tractor magazine, but Fastline and Big Ag which are full of equipment for sale. There are red tractors, blue tractors, yellow tractors and their favorite, the green John Deere. I believe that Tiff’s future cowboys might be driving tractors right along with riding horses. Their great grandpa Bob and grandpa Walter are thrilled with their interest. Tiff sent me these photos today and I just had to share them.  You did such a great job taking these, Tiffany, and thanks so much for sharing them. Wouldn’t some of these make great advertising photos? I think she should send in several.

I could read this all day and sometimes I do.

I kinda like the looks of this red one.

Hmm, this one looks pretty good too.

Hey, brother, maybe Grandpa Walter would buy us this one.

Hey, Mom, do you think Grandpa has any new magazines for us?

This page is my favorite; almost  all green tractors.

Who says a 2 year old can’t read?

Don’t even think about taking my magazine away.

Yup, that one matches my toy tractor. Now to convince Grandpa Walter I need a real one for Christmas.

Day 198 Up Close With Becca

Sunday, July 17 – Becca went along to Gibson Park with me to shoot flowers with the camera club. It was her first time using the Rebel XT, a tripod and reflector. She shot away to her heart’s content and got some beautiful images. I will post more when she gets them to me. It was such a fun morning spending time with my very talented granddaughter.

Day 197 The Flowers Of Gibson Park

Sunday, July 17 – Last Saturday, our camera club headed out bright and early to Gibson Park to do some flower shooting. What a great morning it was.  We also visited the Farmer’s Market and had a lovely breakfast at the Gold Dust. Here are some of my shots. I so wish that my new 180mm macro had been here to use.  It should arrive today and then the fun begins.

Day 196 Have Seen Better Days

Saturday, July 16 – A couple of shots from up Fairy Creek, at the top of Bridger Canyon. Shot with my 5DM2 and the 28-105L. This place reminded me of our junk yard behind the shop. Lots of old equipment and falling down buildings. Very nice place to shoot. We had one fellow who actually sat in the creek up to his armpits to get a good shot of an old barn. Now that is devotion. This headlight shot looks like the lamp is lit, but that is just the early morning sun reflecting. That is the license plate and grill from the same headlight vehicle.  I am off to Gibson Park tomorrow morning bright and early to shoot some macro with the camera club. Becca is going along too to get some practice. It is going to be so much fun having her come. I am so proud of her and what she has been taking. We have such a great time together.
