Day 140 Moon or Sun?

Friday, May 20 – So what’s your guess? Moon or Sun rising over the Highwoods? Tomorrow is the big day. I am busy packing today and hoping that I can get everything in that needs to go.  It is sure clouding up and looking like rain.  Our seeding is done, so maybe it is a good thing. The  threat of flooding is still there because of the snowpack though.

Day 139 Billi, What Beautiful Tulips You Have

Thursday, May 19 – This would have been Martha’s birthday today. She almost made it to 87.  It does seem very unreal that she is gone. She would have enjoyed seeing these pretty tulips in front of Billi’s house, so this is for you, Martha. You are with us in spirit.  I included both shots, as like them both and they are so close, just a little different angle and lighting. I used my little G11; gotta love that camera.  Double enjoyment.

Day 138 California Rolls For Lunch

Wednesday, May 18 – I took lunch to Becca at school today; California Rolls from Suzi’s, Cookie Dough Blizzard and Cream Soda. I love having lunch with the kiddos and it makes them feel pretty important to have a guest. Becca loves California Rolls and they were quite the treat. While I was waiting for them to be prepared, I got a tour of the new addition at Suki’s. It is beautiful! ! It is going to have fresh seafood, which is something new for Great Falls. They should be open when I get home from my trip.

Day 137 I Wouldn’t Think Of Doing Anything Naughty

Tuesday, May 17 – Lily wouldn’t think of doing anything that would get her in trouble. Now again, maybe she would and Tristan can take the blame. Rain is supposed to be coming our way again for the rest of the week. Four days and counting until I leave for Italy. Lists are made and things layed out, now just need to get packing. Off to town to have lunch with Becca; California Roll time.

Day 136 Some Benton Lake Views

Monday, May 16 – Benton Lake is a great bird refuge and we did see quite an assortment of ducks and other feathered fellows. Here are a few G11 shots from that afternoon. Emma and I got to have a Subway lunch together before which was so much fun. The east wind is really blowing today. We have had gusts to 55 yesterday and today. Montana weather is certainly not giving us a break this year. Just 5 more days until I leave for Italy.

Day 135 Off To Catch Slugs

Sunday, May 15 – I went on Emma’s field trip to Benton Lake last week. What a great time we had.  Catching slugs was the highlight of the day.

Day 134 John Dough

Saturday, May 14 – Spotted this clever Wheat Montana sign at Three Forks last week. I love the bakery/restaurant there.  Some pretty nice clouds that day too.  We branded yesterday and I didn’t even take my camera along. It is pretty hard to be working and taking pictures in that dusty/smoky environment. We saw a pretty spectacular sight in the morning though that I wished I had my camera along for. There was a big airplane flying right overhead with an escort fighter just right behind. Wonder who important was going where? Not something you see often here.

Day 133 Happy Birthday To My Sis

Friday, May 13 – Today is my sis’s birthday. Last year was one of those milestone birthdays that she didn’t get to celebrate in the way she intended, as her hubby was in for open heart surgery that day. I hope this year is more uneventful. This picture is of Aimee and her now 6 year old grandson, Tyler. My goodness has he ever grown and now has a baby brother too. Happy Birthdy, my dear sis!!

Day 132 Here Comes More Rain

Thursday, May 12 – Shot this one on Mother’s Day when I was leaving for home from Big Sky. What a beautiful place my son lives. This was the ridge right in front of the lodge. It had been pouring rain for two days and certainly wasn’t letting up anytime soon. They had snow on Monday and Tuesday.

Day 131 Another Soccer Player In The Family

Wednesday, May 11 – Tristan is playing soccer this year. There are only 2 Kindergarten kiddos playing with the 1st and 2nd graders and he is one of them. Hey, Chase, Emma, and Brynn,  you might have to give your cousin some pointers. I think they all would tell him to be tough. His coach is from Poland and a really great guy.
