Day 9 Saying Goodbye To The Holidays

Sunday, January 9 – One last shot to say goodbye to the Holidays. We are off to Sedona and hopefully nicer weather. There are some pretty depressing forecasts coming for the Great Falls area in the next few weeks.

Day 8 Isn’t She Pretty?

Saturday, January 8 – This is one of my favorite holiday decorations. I bought a set of three of these angels that were handmade years ago. I believe I got them at shop that Marilynn Stuff had downtown Great Falls. Marilynn recently passed away and will be very missed. She was such a nice gal and I think of her often.

Day 7 This Is So Good

Friday, January 7 -I am finding that there is nothing like an iPad for reading books.  I have been reading The Hunger Games trilogy lately. What a great set of books. I highly recommend them all. Tiffany is here with the boys and are they ever loving her new iPad. I can not believe how fast those two have learned how to maneuver around that little tablet. There are so many education apps out there too. What an invention!! Storm coming tomorrow!!

Day 6 Just Hangin’ Out For The Winter

Thursday, January 6 -  This little snowman is hanging on the door to my grandfather clock. He takes up residence there every winter and I think I will leave him there for awhile. He seems to be enjoying all the snowy weather we are haing. I made a trip down to see Mom today  and help her do the corporation books. The highway to Belt was awful; snowing blowing across and sticking. Went in to visit friends Leslee and Curtis tonight. Their #2 daughter, Caitlin, is a real computer guru and gave me a hand with my new Macbook Pro. I think I am all set to roll with it now. We got Lightroom loaded up finally. There was a flaw in the program that my upgrade that I had purchased actually fixed when we loaded it. Thank you, Cait!!

Day 5 Happy Birthday, Cheryl

Wednesday, January 5 – Today is my dear friend, Cheryl’s Birthday. Happy ??? Birthday!! I hope you get that iPad you want. In honor of your big day, here is a backlit silhouetted Geranium that has been in my kitchen all year. It is in full bloom right now. Tiffany gave the plant to me for Mother’s Day. I think I almost enjoy it now more than in the summer. I am including two pics, as  I am not sure which I like better; the one with a touch of red or the one almost totally black. Enjoy your day, Cheryl.

Day 4 A Little Glimmer of the Holidays Just Past

Tuesday, January 4 – I haven’t put all my holiday decorations away yet and this one is sitting on my fireplace hearth.  It has finally warmed up a bit, but I hear it is only temporary, with more cold and snow for the weekend. One of those nights when I can’t sleep, so I am up putting my PAD up and doing my recipe swap cards for next month. I have both sets almost done, just a bit more adhesive and a brad.

Day 3 Down Came The Tree

Monday, January 3 – I took the tree down yesterday. It is always kind of sad when it goes away for another year. I enjoy the decorations and lights so much. Each one has a story that comes to mind when it goes up. Brooke helped me decorate this year. She thought our little tree was much too small for the living room and referred to it as the shrub. I don’t get any hubby assistance when it comes to decorating, so her help was much appreciated.

Day 2 Mother Nature Is Out Sculpturing

Sunday, January 2 – The southwest winds have been howling for a couple days now and the snow is drifting like crazy. At least it has come above zero.  We had to move the trucks away from the house, as the drifts were getting as high as they were. That snow has moved on, probably somewhere in the Highwood area by now. Heading out to work on my mom’s books today.

Day 1 of 2011 Happy New Year To All!!

Saturday, January 1, 2011 – Where in the world did 2010 go so fast? Maybe it is true, that the older you get the faster the years go by. It sure seems so this year. We stayed home last night; no celebration. I curled up with my iPad and enjoyed reading the 2nd book in The Hunger Games. Walter just snored away. The wind is howling this morning and it is drifting like crazy. Don’t know how easily we can get in and out our road. It was quite a challenge getting to the chicken house this morning. Sure enough, there was that reliable 1 egg waiting for me. I was hoping to have a spectacular sunrise to share for this first day of the new year, but this is all that Mother Nature gave me today. This is as bright as it got and then it was gone.  At least, it wasn’t a blizzarding sky.
