Day 226 Cousins Contemplating

Saturday, August 14 – Here is a shot of Brooke and Becca at the photowalk contemplating what their next shot should be. Debbie was the photographer behind this great shot. Love it, Debbie.  The 2nd one is also by Debbie and it features Brynn and Emma looking out on that same water. They look like they are standing in water, don’t they? Brrr!! Brynn even looks like she is shivering. NIce shot. It is pouring rain today and slowing down harvest. I am going to go to the movie, Eat, Pray, Love this afternoon. I loved the book and hope the movie does it justice. Have a wedding to shoot tomorrow and have my gear all ready to roll.

Day 225 Some Sunset

Friday, August 13 – We have been having so many thunderstorm about sunset lately that it has been difficult to do any shooting. This one cooperated though. Nice golden sunset light looking out toward the straw bales west of the house. I used my G11 this time.

Day 224 Frosting

Thursday, August 12 – Just couldn’t pass up this pretty moss growing on some posts at the Monarch Cemetary. It is such an interesting place. So many of the family plots have fences built around them. Something you don’t see in the big cemetaries. This moss was growing on one of those fences. It is the”frosting” on the fence post.

Day 223 Memories

Wednesday, August 11 – I made a visit to the Monarch cemetary just at dusk last weekend to do some shooting. There are so many interesting stories to be told here. I am including just a few shots that I found interesting. My 5DM2 amazed me with that clarity at such a high ISO – 3200.

Day222 – An Early Morning in the Mountains

Tuesday, August 10 – A shot from the mountains right in front of Billi’s cabin Sunday morning. We woke to a gorgeous fog and I just had to get some shots of the trees right in front.

.

Day 221 Pretty Toes

Monday, August 9 – Here is a shot of Becca’s toes that I took at Memorial Falls by Neihart. ? This is an example of something that I learned in class. When do you take a vertical shot? Right after taking the horizontal one. I like both here. What pretty toe nail polish you have, Becca.

.

Day 220 Sunny Flowers

Sunday, August 8 – I love sunflowers. They grow wild in our fields and the birds have scattered their seeds around my yard, so I have sunflowers around the house too. I love doing macro shots, so had to do some ‘sunny flowers’ ones.

Day 219 The Honorable Mentions

Saturday, August 7 – Here are the photos that Becca and Emma got Honorable Mentions on. They were so thrilled. I am sure that I have already had these two up here, but thought they deserved a rerun. The weather is supposed to turn back later. They are calling for hail and heavy rain with possible super cells. Can’t imagine that we are having tornado weather. The wind is blowing hard and it is 87 out right now. Really drying out that grain for harvest.

.

Day 218 Goodbye Mr. Sun

Friday, August 6 – Here are some of shots of the sun going down with some nice color from all the smoke that is in the air lately from forest fires. We now have added the dust from harvest, so the blue skies are not with us. I am cleaning the chicken coup tomorrow in anticipation of our pullets arrival next week. Becca and Emma each won honorable mention in the photography at the state fair. They were thrilled!!  Gpod job, girls. I will put those photos up tomorrow.

Day 217 What is with the elk?

Thursday, April 5 – What is going on with the elk coming here visiting? We had the bull and two cows a couple of weeks ago and now this bull elk. Not the best photos, as he was really moving and I didn’t have the best photo setting in a moving vehicle.
