Day 139 Happy Birthday, Charlotte

Wednesday, May 19 – Today, Sunday the 16th is Charlotte’s birthday. Happy Birthday, Charlotte!! This is a Lensbaby shot.  The weather is gorgeous out; 72 degrees and sunny, with no wind. I am stuck inside working on my class photos. They are all done and I am just trying to decide what to upload now.

Day 138 If My Brother Can Be Here, I Can Too!

Tuesday, May 18 – My very willing model, Lily, wanted to have her photo taken when they spent last weekend here. So here is a shot of the little cutie pie. We can’t have big brother getting all the attention!! What a little ham!

OOPS!!

Tiffany pointed out that I put my birthday instead of Mother’s Day that she gave me that beautiful dahlia for. I am so sorry, Tiff. Must have had a brain freeze. I am loving the plant and it is in full bloom right now. Love that unusual salmon color.

Day 137 The Lensbaby Is Back On Again

Monday, May 17 – I have my Lensbaby lens on again for my PPSOP class and have been shooting away for this week’s assignment. Tristan is always a willing subject, which really shocks me for a 5 year old. His big eyes are perfect for these kind of shots. I also did a whole series of a Dahlia that Tiffany gave me for Mother’s Day. The sun is shining and it is supposed to be in the 70s by the weekend. Spring might finally be here.

Day 136 Becca Joins In

Sunday, May 16 – Becca got a new Canon camera for her 10th birthday and she is loving it.  She sent me this photo this morning that she took on Sunday at my house. Nice photo, Becca. You have a great eye for photography. I am looking forward to us making a trip down to the museum to do some shooting with our cameras. It is raining today and very dreary out. The weatherbug says that we are missing most of the big storm, as it is going south. Thank goodness! We need some drying out weather for a change. The 70s by the weekend are looking good.

Day 135 Happy Mother’s Day

Saturday, May 15 – Today is Mother’s Day and in honor I am posting this shot of a baby owl that Carl shared with me. Anyone who has ever attempted to capture a little guy like this knows what he went through to get this compostion. I thought it was perfect to use today, as he looks like he is on the outlook for his mom. So in honor of all mom’s including Mrs. Owl, Happy Mother’s Day.

Day 134 They Are All Natural!

Friday, May 14 Yesterday was Kristie and Nick’s anniversary, so the kiddos are spending a couple of days/nights here to give them a break. They got to go to supper last night minus the little guys for a change and we get to have fun in the meantime. The weather is beautiful out today and the snow is finally melting.  Here is a shot of Lily that shows off those long eyelashes of hers. What some gals wouldn’t do for those! Make sure to click on the photo to enlarge to take a closer look at those awesome lashes. Happy Anniversary to Kristie and Nick!

Day 133 Happy Birthday, Becca!

Thursday, May 13 – A special friend’s family gave me this Hoya to remember her when she passed away. It was one of her favorite plants and is very old. The first photos are from a few days ago and the later ones were taken this morning. Isn’t it strange how the blossoms change when they open; like little fuzzy teddy bears from those waxy buds. They smell so good too. All were taken with my G11. It is snowing like crazy out. This is getting so old. I am taking Becca shopping today for her birthday which is actually Thursday, May 6. Happy Birthday, Becca!! Her mom gave her a camera for her special day, so we have another budding phototog in the family.

Day 132 Emergence

Wednesday, May 12 – A shot of a new little Calla Lily emerging into the bright world. I bought this pot of blooms a year ago to shoot and saved them over. They are now emerging and I wonder if blooms are on the horizon. It is a perfect day for this shot, as it is snowing out and 32 degrees right now. Doesn’t look much like the spring time it should be.

Day 131 Eensy, Weensy Spider

Tuesday, May 11 – A shot from Jamaica that I forgot to post earlier. I don’t have the foggiest idea of what kind of spider it is.  We have snow again – all white out and still coming down. They are saying a couple more inches today and again tonight. It just doesn’t seem to want to quit. It is only 30 out. I am sure glad that I wasn’t tempted to put any plants out yet. I wish I had had my macro lens with me for an upclose shot.
