Day 12 Miss Brown Eyes

Tuesday, January 12 – Take a look at these big brown eyes belonging to Emma. We are having another windy warmer day. There is a flood warning out now for the area due to the fast melting snow.

Day 11 – How About This Doghouse?

Monday, January 11 – This is the dog house at Billi’s cabin. It has two rooms and is heated even. The blue tarped area in front is for shade. It is quite the little palace. The kids love to crawl in and use it for a place to hide during snowball fights. It was supposed to be 50 degrees today and it already 51 here at noon. I sure hope that it helps get rid of some of this dangerous ice. I couldn’t get near the cattle feeding troughs this morning because of water on top of ice.

Day 10 YUM!! Wheat Chili

Sunday, January 10 – Last night I made wheat chili so that I could take some pictures for my recipe pages. Here are a couple shots I am considering using. Walter doesn’t like wheat chili; I guess he misses the beans. I love it and guess I will be freezing some for future use. Make sure to click on the photos to enlarge. I used my 100mm macro and a reflector.

Day 9 Ouch!! Where Are The Bears?

Saturday, January 9 – A shot from Billi’s cabin deck of a squirrel feeder and what appeared to me as one heck of a way to keep the bears away. That is exactly what the nails are for. The former owner said he had cubs right there behind the cabin in the past. Make sure to click on the photo to take a closer look, like always. We have lovely weather today and the snow is melting like crazy at 40 degrees.

Day 8 Sentry Duty

Friday, January 8 – The Chinook winds have finally arrived and we are at 32 degree right now. The winds are howling and I am sure the highways are not in the best shape. Mom has her set up for radiation today and will have to be traveling to town. I started a new online photography class today. The teacher is someone I have had before and I loved the classes.  Here are Penny (Billi’s Golden) and Bob (Bobbi’s Snoodle) acting as guard dogs.

Day 7 I Am Such A Little Angel

Thursday, January 7 – In just three weeks, I will be getting on a cruise ship heading for the Panama Canal. The warm weather is going to be so welcomed by all of us that are venturing from Montana.  I just had to share this shot of Tristan on Christmas Eve. This was one of his more angelic moments.

Day 6 Happy Birthday, Cheryl

Wednesday, January 6 – Happy Birthday a day late, Cheryl.  I am so sorry that I didn’t get to spend time with you on your actual day. That winter weather kept me home yesterday. I will get your present to you the next time I get to town. I thought it appropriate to post this picture in your honor. In just three weeks from Friday this should be our view from our staterooms on our cruise ship. I am so ready for warm weather!! Happy Birthday, my dear friend.

Day 5 I’m Waiting For That Man With The Presents

Tuesday, December 5 – Another snowy day. We have around 6 inches of snow on the ground and it is still coming down. There is a blizzard condition warning for this afternoon when the north winds are supposed to start up and blow from 30-40mph. I am missing the second day of our little crafting gathering at Cheryl’s. I just couldn’t get myself to drive in with the weather being like that. No wind yet, but it continues to snow. This shot is from Christmas Eve. Lily looks like she is not going to give up waiting for Santa even if she can barely keep her eyes open.

Day 4 Flying Saucers Have Landed

Monday, January 4 – Can you believe it is snowing again and we are under a winter storm warning? Yuck, not again!! It is supposed to get bitter cold tomorrow and Wednesday and then warm up for the weekend. I spent the day at Cheryl’s. Six of us are getting together and each of us is taking a Creative Escape (paper craft) project and teaching the others how do it. We did two of them today and both turned out fantastic. We will do more tomorrow and then have a third day later in the month. We did a potluck lunch which was yummy. The creative juices are flowing again. At least, I hope they are, as I need to get scrapbooking like I used to. My photo today was taken on New Year’s Day at the cabin. The kiddos had so much fun with their new flying saucer sleds. I remember buying similar ones in metal for my kids when they were little.

Day 3 Do I Go Or Do I Stay?

Sunday, January 3 – Here is a shot of Penny, Billi/Brad’s Golden at the cabin. She just couldn’t make up her mind whether she was going or staying. She, at least, knows how to work the ‘doggy door’. Poor Shep just didn’t get it.  He did eventually learn to follow her lead and sneak out when she went. Coming back in was another story for him though. It was 40 degrees most of the day and the snow is pretty much gone here. There is still a whole lot of ice at the barn though. I see there is a winter storm watch for Monday night now; up to 8 inches of snow on the plains and 16 inches in the mountains. I guess Mother Nature isn’t ready to give us much of a break yet. As always, make sure to click on the photo to enlarge it.
