Day 22 My Birthday Lunch

Friday, January 22- Mom, Dad and Aimee treated me to a birthday lunch today at Flavors (the old Udder Company/Ice Cream Factory). We all ended up ordering Ruebens, which you can see here are absolutely delicious looking and didn’t disappoint in the taste department either. I am not a fan of sauerkraut except when it is on a good rueben.  It was just starting to snow when I headed home and it has been snowing ever since. They are forcasting heavy snow overnight and tomorrow. I sure am glad that the cows are not calving yet. Most of my many birthdays have been celebrated during a snow storm. So I certainly shouldn’t be surprised this year brought one too. I used my little G11 today for these shots.

Day 21 Our Last Nice Day For Awhile

Thursday, January 21 – This is the last nice day we will be having for awhile. There is a winter storm watch out starting tomorrow and going through Sunday. We might even have some of the white stuff on the ground again. So here is a nice sunrise to say goodbye to our nice weather. I know, it is the same location that I usually shoot sunrises, but you can’t go wrong when you have that view right outside your house. I sure hope that this weather change is just temporary.  I need to grab my camera today and get some class photos taken. This week is using aperture priority.

Day 20 My Little Project

Wednesday, January 20 – Here is a shot of the project I finished yesterday. The photo certainly doesn’t do it justice. It has Glimmer Mist on the flocked paper and gold paint or ink edging everything. The metallic effect doesn’t show up here. Inside the box there are little books that I covered and bound with the same papers.  It is a whole lot more orange than it looks here too. Still a beautiful winter day today, but that is to change on Friday when it is back to winter and snow. At least, we got rid of our ice before it comes again. The mud is even drying up in the corral.

Day 19 – Let Me Outta Here

Tuesday, January 19 – Here is a shot from last weekend when I watched Tiffany’s twins. This is Gage after the Do Not Disturb/Housekeeping Sign.  I guess he thinks he needs the cleaning lady for some reason. Don’t you just love his little coveralls. His brother, Bryton, was still napping or would have been right there too. A group of us got together to scrapbook/craft today and I completed two projects. One is the album that I am teaching and the other was a decorated box that I missed the class for when the weather was so bad. It was such a wonderful day spent with friends.

Day 18 Hello, Helena!

Monday, January 18 – I went to Helena today with friends shopping. We went to the The Memory Trail, Ben Franklin, Bernina and Lewis and Clark Brew Pub for lunch. What a fun day! We stopped at DQ on our way home for a “refreshment” for the road.

Day 17 – Contemplating A Move

Sunday, January 17 – Here is a “not great” shot of that tree that grows right up through the sun porch at Billi’s cabin. It is enclosed with double pane glass and you can watch the squirrels run up and down. A very hard subject to photograph without getting reflections. There was a Knights in the Corner game going on when I took this and you can see that Billi was deep in thought about her next move. The windows face to the south making the lighting very hard to deal with. But I think you get the general idea about how neat it is to have a tree growing through your house. Babysitting went great last night. Those two little buggers are so darned good; they just slept. I didn’t get a single photo, as I didn’t want to wake them up with lights. Just two weeks from today and they will be a year old. Bryant too 2nd last night in the calf roping, so is leading that contest and the all around too for the rodeo finals. Good job, Bryant!! Wouldn’t that be something if he repeated that win again for the 2nd year in a row?

Day 16 Oh, No, My House Is Being Invaded!

Saturday, January 16 – Here is shot of Shep when Tristan arrived for a visit. Shep is not especially fond of having his domain invaded.  I will be watching Tif’s boys tonight for the rodeo. The camera is going along with hopes of some shots. I found it was really hard to get good shots yesterday with the light in the motel room. Maybe today will be better. Bryant won the calf roping last night. Good luck tonight too!

Day 15 Good Morning, Montana

Friday, January 15 – The last few days we have been enjoying gorgeous Montana sunrises. What a way to start a nice warm winter day. The colors just got brighter and brighter as Mr. Sun came up. The rodeo finals are this weekend and it is very rare to have such nice weather for them. Bryant will be competing in calf roping and steer wrestling. Good luck, Bryant!

Day 14 – I am 4, Grandma Robyn

Thursday, January 14 – This is a shot from Tristan’s last visit. He has a whole bucket of metal airplanes that were Chase’s that he loves to play with. He sets up his airport on my coffee table and then we have to put on Sky Captain and he plays and plays. He is pretty excited to be turning 5 this year and is very happy informing me that he is now 4.

Day 13 That Morning “Waker-Upper”

Wednesday, January 13 – Walter got a new coffee maker a few months ago and for Christmas he got a revolving holder for his Kcups. He loves his morning coffee and the new machine is, according to him, just awesome. I do like making the tea and hot chocolate. You just pop in a kcup and away you go with a drink in less than a minute. Mom started her radiation today and is staying at the Gift of Life housing. So we got her all settled in after her treatment.  We are working heifers tomorrow, finally, now that the weather is warmer. Tiffany will be here for the rodeo this weekend.  I am really excited to be helping her with the boys. I will definitely take my camera along to get some shots of those little wild guys. Bryton is everywhere and has even taken some steps. Gage is content to just watch his brother get in things. Oh, Tiffany, wait until they both are walking!
