Day 349 Here Comes Winter Again

Tuesday, December 15 – It is Saturday night and we are in the middle of winter again. It is below zero and snowing. I shot this sunrise this morning just before the cold front started to roll in. The color didn’t last long.

Day 348 Invaded By Deer

Monday, December 14 – So  you guys think that was a cross between a deer and a llama yesterday, well here are some more shots of that little gal and her brother. Trust me they really are mule deer fawns. We had so many sets of twin fawns this year. They love living down by my barn where there is lots to eat. There is never any hunting down there, so they get almost as tame as the cows. Hope you had a wonderful birthday, Debbie. Another winter storm is supposed to be roaring in this weekend. Not something we want to hear.

Day 347 Happy Birthday, Debbie

Sunday, December 13 – Your birthday was actually Friday, but I am ahead with my PADs, so this one is going to be posted a day early, but says it is two days late. I know, confusing!! Anyway, I thought this little fawn looked like she could be saying Happy Birthday to my friend in Washington. I took this a couple of months ago when we still had things like green grass. I am sure that this little beauty would rather see the weather like this too. I hope your day is the best ever. My thoughts are certainly with you, Debbie, even if I can’t be there in person.  The wind continues to blow and the snow to drift here. It is almost 20 degree above zero which is welcomed. Imagine, just a few days ago it was that much below zero. Make sure to click on the photo to take a closer look.

Day 346 When Do I Get My Birthday Cupcake?

Saturday, December 12 – Poor little Gage looks like he is pretty distressed over missing having his own special birthday cupcake. Don’t worry, little guy, your birthday is coming soon. It is next month and I am sure that your mom and dad have something very special planned. I bet it includes cake or cupcakes too.

Day 345 What’s So Great About A Cupcake?

Friday, December 11 – Tristan looks like he thought that whole cupcake thing was such a waste of time. His favorite part was blowing out the candles, which he did for Lily.  It is bitterly cold still here. The wind is supposed to start after midnight and warm up to above zero.

Day 344 Now I Get It!!

Thursday, December 10 – Lily finally figured it out and boy, did she. That frosting stuff isn’t all bad. In fact, she didn’t want to give it up, as the last photo shows. On top of it all, the pink frosting stained and she had pink hands and face for awhile.  What a fun 1st birthday it was for our Lily Jade.

Day 343 I’m Supposed To Do What?

Wednesday, December 9 – Here goes with the first series of Lily versus the birthday cupcake. She was not going to get dirty at first and it took some urging for her to take that first taste. The next series will show the result after that first bite of frosting.

Day 342 Becca, You’re Growing Up Too Fast

Tuesday, December 8 – Here is a shot of Becca that I took recently. She is so photogenic and looks far older than she is.  We are digging out after our blizzard yesterday. The snow next to my sidewalk is waist deep after Walter shoveled. There are lots of drifts knee high. Really hard telling how much snow we actually got because there was so much wind with it. Now that the wind has stopped we are going into the deep freeze of subzero temps.

Day 341 Cuddlebug

Monday, December 7 – Brynn loves her little cousin, Bryton, so much. I love this shot and I think it captures that love perfectly.  There is a winter storm warning tonight and it only get worse by tomorrow. Lots of snow and subzero temps for tomorrow. I had lunch with my friend, Leslee, today at Chili’s. They serve a great all you can eat soup/salad/chips special. We had a great lunch and lovely visit.

Day 340 What Do You Mean It Won’t Come Off?

Sunday, December 6 – This photo just says it all. The frosting that Nick chose was bright pink. Problem was it stained. Lily’s hands and face stayed a lovely pale pink. Make sure to click on the photo to enlarge to get the full impact.  I wonder if it wore off yet. I think a long soak in the tub was in order. I have two series of cake photos to share yet in the very near future.
