Day 359 A Beautiful Christmas Day!

Thursday, December 25 – It is a glorious Christmas Day in Montana. The sun is shining and it makes a person feel glad to be alive. I took these of my favorite trees in front of my house just at sunset. I really need to put together a seasons series of this location. I was thrilled that Tiffany remembered when we got those trees and how much they have grown. Make sure to click on the photos to enlarge them.  Merry Christmas to all!

Day 358 Merry Christmas Eve

Thursday, December 24 – It’s finally Christmas Eve!! I had the family here for a meal and package opening. It was wonderful having the house full of laughing kiddos. The 4 girls even had to take a bath in Grandma’s bubbling tub. My mil, Martha, came out and so did my folks. They seemed to have fun with the whole bunch here. I did prime rib and turkey with all the trimmings. Everyone brought something too and that helped out so much. We are heading to Aimee’s house tomorrow. These are shots from this morning; it was cold, but, oh, so bright and beautiful out.

Day 357 Foggy Sunset

Wednesday, December 23 – We are having the most horrid weather and something we just don’t see here in Montana much; ice. There has been thick fog since Sunday and freezing rain has covered everything with ice. I have not been out the door today, as there is no way I could get down the hill to the barn. Walter fell this noon going out our front door. The rocks and dirt and wood are all coated with ice making it just plain dangerous to be out. I shot these just a few minutes ago with my G11 of the sunset. It was the brightest it has been out all day. I had to stand in the front door to get the shot. Poor Shep came charging out and fell all the way to the bottom of the stairs.

Day 356 Thank God For Power

Tuesday, December 22 – This shot was late afternoon just as the sun was getting ready to go down. I love the golden light this time of year in the late afternoon. These power poles remind me of how grateful I am  that we have electricity for making our home warm on subzero days. It was around 20 below when this was taken.

Day 355 I Wonder What Is In That Package?

Monday, December 21 – The count down begins for the final week before Christmas day. Now the question is are we going to have a white Christmas. There has been enough winter weather lately, thank you. Here is another shot of our 8 year old birthday girl. Brynn, you are growing up so fast. You were so surprised when that package was something you never expected. Your new American Girl doll baby dolls were adorable.

Day 354 A Lily Shot

Sunday, December 20 – One of my favorite shots of Lily. She looks like the little angel that she is here, doesn’t she? Just a few more days until Christmas. I actually got the tree up and decorated. Walter is working on the kitchen lights which haven’t worked in months. Fluorescent light problems is what it is looking like. I think I will have lights again by evening. We are enjoying the above freezing weather. Now that the cows are all home, the work of feeding them is much less. There is lots of pasture here to graze and we can save that valuable hay for later.

Day 353 Officially 8 Years Old

Saturday, December 19 – Brynn is now officially 8 years old. She had a great time shopping at Claire’s yesterday picking out fun things that every 8 year old has to have. She had a pizza party last night and a fun cupcake cake. I had never seen one of those before; the cupcakes are all iced together like a cake.

Day 352 A Very Special Day!

Friday, December 18 – Today is Bobbi and Gregg’s anniversary.  Those years are adding up!! I remember how beautiful your wedding was. This is also the special day that your youngest daughter arrived in your lives. So, Happy Birthday, Brynn and Happy Anniversary, Bobbi and Gregg. Brynn and I are going shopping after school today. It is also Marilynn’s Christmas program day. Tiffany took this photo on Thanksgiving of Brynn, who happened to be Lily’s pick of best friend of the day. She would not let Brynn out of her sight or let anyone else even touch her. Thanks, Tiffany, for the cute photo. I just had to use it for Brynn’s big day when she turns 8.

Day 351 Jade Pays A Visit

Thursday, December 17 – Jade decided to pay a visit to my blog today. Not the best lighting or color; I used the G11 and have not gotten the manual controls down pat yet. Clicking to enlarge really helps show off those big blue eyes.

Day 350 She Warms Grandma’s Heart

Wednesday, December 16 – Nothing like Lily’s smile to warm up a cold winter day. Her daddy is sure going to have his hands full when the boys start noticing those big beautiful brown eyes. Be sure to click on the photo to enlarge.  It is still below zero here on Sunday afternoon, but the Chinook winds are supposed to start Tuesday night and bring some warmer weather. Yippee!!
